Delete your account

You can delete your Amicortex account, and the data linked to it, at any time. There are two ways to do it.

Option 1: Inside the app

Open the Amicortex app and sign in.
Open your profile.
Go to App → Data controls.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

This cannot be undone.

Have a paid plan? Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought on Google Play. Cancel it first in the Google Play app → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Amicortex, so you are not charged again.

Option 2: By email

If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, send an email to support@amicortex.app with the subject Delete my account.

Please send it from the email address you used to sign up, so we can confirm the account is yours. If you write from a different address, we may ask you to verify ownership before we delete anything.

What is deleted

Your account details (name, email, profile photo and settings)
All your chats and messages
Everything Amicortex remembers about you (memory summary and remembered facts)
Your images and image library
Your reminders
Your emergency contacts, code word, and location data from safety sessions
Your Gmail connection (the stored access token)

Deletion is completed within 30 days of your request.

What is kept, and why

Payment records. If you bought a paid plan, the transaction record (order ID, payment ID, amount, plan and date) is kept for up to eight years, because Indian tax and accounting law requires it. These records never contain your card or bank details.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You can also keep your account and remove only some data:

Delete any chat, or all chats, from inside the app.
Delete any image from your Library.
Clear what Amicortex remembers about you from the Memory screen.
Disconnect Gmail from inside the app, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
